Basma, who is naturally a great resource for Middle Eastern food and technique, has been Hannelore’s assistant at Gulf Coast Community College Encore presentations for the past several semesters. This platform experience was sufficient for us to convince her to teach at Somethin’s Cookin' this past year. We are very happy to have Basma back for an encore presentation.

An Introduction to Wine Appreciation by Bill Holland: $Free

An introductory short course in the basics of wine appreciation and just how to start understanding wine and it’s so called protocols. This will be the “jumping off” point from which we will offer a series of various wine courses in the future. This short course will use tasting of several different wines to begin the process of “debunking” some of the myths and providing you will the tools to help insure the improvement of your future enjoyment of wines.

  • Watch your e-mail for notices regarding the varietals and vineyards that we will be tasting as we have several really outstanding shipments programmed but we have not been advised of actual delivery.

  • German wines not before available in the our area, exclusively from the Pflaz region of Germany. This is the area Hannelore is from and some of the wines are from vineyards from which her family purchased for their hotel and restaurant. A very special evening. Scheduled for Friday April 23.
    • Recently we had an opportunity to have a private tasting with the owners and vintners of Hendry Vineyards. Their wines were so crisp and fruitfull we purchased on the spot and will feature an exclusive Tasting of their wines soon. As soon as the wines arrive we will notify you by e-mail of the tasting date.
